Flower Garden
This is a long one, so buckle up! This video shows you what my front yard garden looks like as of the end of June 2020. I’m in Florida, technically Zone 8b, but more like zone 9a in practice.

I love mixing edibles in with my ornamental plants, so you will see a lot of tomatoes, peppers, and fruits planted among my flowers. I had a few requests to pan out more so you could see more of the complete garden, so I tried to do that a lot In this video. I also walked you into my side yard “food forest” area and into the back yard where I have several raised garden beds. I try to practice permaculture principles as much as I can. I’m not exactly hard and fast (see drip tube irrigation for example!), but I find my plants actually do better since I adopted more permaculture methods in my beach sand yard.

My entire property is only about 1/5 acre, actually 8756 square feet. When I subtract out the footprint of the house, driveway, sidewalks, patio, etc, I’m left with about 5000 square feet of “dirt”, or potential as I like to call it. Most of what you see in the video is work I did since November of 2019, so 7 months in the making! I still have a lot of work to do out there, which I will get back to as soon as I finish the never-ending tile project I mentioned in the video.
